Dragonfly Cam Size 6 Purple DMM

Dragonfly Cam for secure small-pocket placements

The Dragonfly Cam Size 6 Purple DMM from DMM is built for trad climbing, offering a compact head and broad holding range to secure placements in narrow features. The unit combines a low-profile design with a flexible stem to reduce walking and maintain placement integrity during multi-pitch use.

Technical focus on components and protection

The cam uses a precise 13.75° camming angle and TripleGrip lobes with raw aluminium surface for improved bite. Key components include a flexible stem cable, compact trigger bar and narrow head width to fit small pockets, while the extendable 11mm Dynatec sling with compact stitch pattern allows extension of either strand and reduces rope drag.

Materials, construction and model identity

Manufactured by DMM, the cam blends precision-machined aluminium lobes with a durable cable stem and robust sling construction. The design purpose is to complement smaller Dragon cams (sizes 4 and 5) with overlap to Dragons 00–1, providing consistent performance across a wide size range without adding unnecessary bulk.

Carry comfort and on-route practicality

The slim head and compact trigger bar improve racking and placement in tight pockets; the flexible stem cable minimizes walking for more stable protection. The extendable sling option enhances clipping versatility on multi-pitch routes and helps maintain a tidy rack as part of your DMM climbing gear.

Recommended use

Ideal for trad climbers seeking secure protection in small or narrow pockets, the cam is suited to single-pitch and multi-pitch trad routes where compact, reliable camming device performance and minimal walking are required.
